The
concept is born. Kevin & Beth Schippers put plans in motion
for opening a sub shop in Eau Claire WI. The backdrop for
the concept would develop out of the childhood stories Kevin's
father, David Schippers told of two boys, Erbert & Gerbert
Herbert. Each sandwich would be named after a character the
boys met as they traveled through time and space learning
a little about history, science and a lot about being a friend.

The unique names combined with late night hours and delivery
was a community success. John Johnson hired to assume management
and leadership duties.

St. Cloud opens as second company owned store. Opening in
a similar market, the success of St. Cloud defined the ability
to grow the concept and expand beyond Eau Claire. Head office
grows to include key financial position. Jean Kleven hired.

First franchised location opens downtown Duluth. Successful
downtown location proves that concept is a success with location
outside of conventional college campus area.
