Comet Candy is an old friend of Halleys’, but has only been seen once by scientists on earth. The boys met Comet Candy when they were visiting Venus. As you know, the temperature on Venus is extremely high, and human beings normally wouldn’t survive there. But as a favor to Halleys, Comet Candy (a very cool lady indeed) let Erbert and Gerbert view the steaming planet from her tail. Because her tail is made primarily of slushy ice crystals, the boys were able to stay cool so that they could view the wonders of the clouds of Venus. But, even while gazing at the planet named after the most beautiful goddess in all of mythology, Erbert and Gerbert agreed that Comet Candy was actually the fairest celestial body of all. And so they discovered another valuable lesson: Beauty is more than slush deep.
